I've always been into auto racing, owned some fun cars in Japan however I only plan on being Stateside for a few years and auto racing in the States is expensive so I figured I get into off-roading, it's relatively cheap, can be done anywhere and doesn't require a special license.
This is my first "truck" 1987 4Runner, I bought it as is from some dude who bought it as is from another guy so not much is known about it and I'm skeptical about most of it since I didn't do any of the work.
22RE
5 speed
Body lift of unknown height.
Claimed the engine was rebuilt (no receipts shown but eveything attached to the engine is brand new)
Lockright lockers front and rear
5:29 gears
Mickey Thompson wheels
Brand new 36x13.5x15" IROCS
Unknown shocks but look like Ranchero's
Has some super beefy shackles on the rear
Front still uses the independant suspension
Bushwacker fender flares
Custom cat back exhaust, sounds great but it's all crush bent semi-stainless steel....
Custom front tubular bumper
Manually locking front hubs
I don't think the rear leaf springs are stock but the guy didn't seem to know if the other guy changed them out.
The rear frame rails have been boxed
Custom drive lines and brackets and stuff
Bobbed 10"
Taylor plug wires
Full MSD ignition
Drove the truck for 2 weeks then it tossed the head gasket.. My guess is the dude had suspected the head gasket was going when it started eating coolant and decided to get back what he paid for the truck with the other guy.
I don't really care though. I'll be honest, I fell in love with the bobbed body and those over fenders...
Here's some pics linked from my wife's Facebook from the little driving I did get to do with it. I took some pictures but it's all on film and I've yet to get it developed..
I got some future plans but they mostly involve getting the truck running again first.
