hey yall, im new here comming from richmond va. I just traded my dirtbike for an 89 4runner sr5. It has an engine but doesnt work and it came with another engine from a 2nd gen that does run. Unfortunately i have to swap the two, but i guess for a dirtbike it's worth it. Anyways just wanted to see if anyone here has any good tips before i do this surgery and if anyone in the richmond area wants to come and help me out on this.

Love to help.but.... Remove your front clip. It will make your enginectomy much smoother.

Can't help you because I don't know what I'm doing. I live in R'mond too and just wanted to say Hi. I'm looking for a 1st gen but not looking for a big project like you have. If you need parts Chesterfield Auto Parts lists 1 junk 1st gen 4runner in its pick n' pull inventory. Also there's a Toyota junk yard on 460 East between Zuni and Ivor (near Suffolk). Don't know the name of the yard but I pass it every weekend on my way to the beach. He has at least two 1st gen 4runners that I can see from the road. What color is your 4runner? Any pics?
