Bay Shore??
Are you referring to Bay Shore, NY?? If so, I was just there last weekend. Nice place to visit, but I could never dream about being able to afford living there! Aside from the high cost of everything, the real estate and sales taxes are sky-high as well.

It seems as though any house in the ghetto of Suffolk County will still run a minimum of 300k - and that is for a little 'starter' house. My girlfriend's sister lives there now, and she bought her house a long time ago. Lucky for her, she'll do quite well when she decides to sell it.

Yeah, I did not think so. I have never been to Jones Beach, but I remember passing it as we went from JFK Airport to my girlfriend's sister's house in Bay Shore. We saw tons of cars waiting to turn into the entrance. My girlfriend grew up there and has fond memories of going to Jones Beach for picnics, fun and frolic when she was younger.
Anyway, I lived in upstate NY (near Newburgh) when I was a kid back in the 1970s, and was back to visit last year after not being there for 25 years. The Hudson Valley is simply beautiful - despite being only 45 to 50 miles above the chaos of NYC. It's just too darn cold in the winter time, though.

Enjoy your 4Runner on Long Island, though. At $3.25 per gallon, I suppose you are going to be rather conservative about where you drive it. Yikes! It sure was nice to cross into New Jersey Sunday on our way home to VA and find gasoline was "only" $2.88 a gallon. Sheesh!
How about a picture of your 4Runner??
P.S. Is it "Bay Shore" or "Bayshore" without a space?
