Hello, I'm new to the forum here and just wanted to drop in and say hello to everyone.

My name is Justin and I'm currently trying to read up and learn as much as I can about the 4Runner platform, as I've made the decision that it will be what I replace my current care with in the near future. After 10+ years of being in low to the ground, rough riding sports cars, I've come to the conclusion that I'd like to transition into something that is more reliable and much larger.

I had it narrowed down to the 4Runner and a Jeep GC, and while the GC is really nice, finding one that meets my options criteria for what I'm willing to spend has been next to impossible; but that's mainly cause the dealers around here don't really want to move on their asking price much.

I'll try not to ask questions that I'm sure a search will answer for me, but I do want to know what's people opinions of the 5th gen are, and if it's worth trying to buy an older 5th Gen Unlimited or if looking for a newer one would be the better option.

Thanks for the welcome here, it's been fun kind of poking around while I continue my search for the 4Runner for me.

After being disappointed at the used market around me and the few "nice" ones that I thought would be worth a look, I'm going to bite the bullet and look at a new one tomorrow. It's just going to be a base SR5, but that's ok really since it's bound to be way more reliable than my current ride.
