Can't decide 2005 4x2 or 2012 4x4?
Don't mean to jack your thread - I just signed up but it would not allow me to post..
newbie to thread here also looking to buy my first 4Runner but just can't decided. Still researching.
I have a chance to buy my neighbors 2005 4 Runner Sport4x2 with 142k, original owner with all service records for $7,000. OR 2012 SR5 4x4 with 52k for $26,000.
I would say 85-90% of the time it will just be for work, kids soccer and family SUV. The other 10% will be for towing a bass boat as I love to fish.. been bank fishing the last 3 years.. It's time for an SUV and a boat.
Only reason I don't want my neighbor's is that it's not 4x4, I want it because it's cheap and one owner. I can pay cash for this.
The 2012 for $26,000 would be great as it is a 4x4, but I don't want a $300 monthly payment either.
Small Bass boat, trailer gear etc.. probably no more than 3,000 lbs. Not driving through mountains or going off-road. closest lake would be 10-15 minutes.. flat ramp.. Furthest lake, river is maybe 4 hours away. again dry ramps..
So it's a difficult decision.
Can someone help me decide which I should get based on my use?
