Hey, I have a 2001 4runner, and I was juss lookin at the forum in my class and ya'll have intrigued me into a whole new world about my car. I don't have a lot of money as I'm still a student at UT, but I would like advice on what to add to my 4runner. Grill guard? New lights? Eventual lift?? Any advice on where to start would be awesome.

If I were in school again, I would not add anything to my vehicle. Instead I would save it for BEER. Maybe All-weather floor mats just in case someone pukes in your ride.

what do you think looks good and the most value for your money? also depends on if you're a form or function type of person. no use in getting a lift if you don't do any serious off-roading, unless you just plain like the way big tall trucks look! when i was in college the first thing i did to my toyota pickup was install a killer sound system with lots of bass, but that is pretty low priority for me these days...

The only bad thing about the system, is that you get a couple of azz holes that hear you from a half mile away, then you come out of your g/f's house and the efing system is stripped out. If you haven't gathered who this is about, it is me

I agree...stay away from a sound system or anything "show." The first thing i did to my 4runner was get my fatty 2 15" subs....its loud as hell, but after a couple of months i get tired of it and i lost my trunk space. I need my ride to be practical too. I would save up for a supercharger...haha. IMO.

just for the record, i wasn't recommending a sound system, just pointing out that was what i did when i was that age.

Yea you' re totally right about the system. I forgot his age. Only being 27, i really don't have the urge to shake my fillings loose in my teeth.
Oh, and when the gutted my car for the system, they also decided to take my hockey equipment. I mean common, did they even know how bad that isht smelled. I guess they did afterwards.
But thanks to home owners insurance, i got it all back.
