Hello everyone,

I'm new here. I looked for an introductions thread to post in, but couldn't find one, so here I am.
I purchased a 2006 4runner SR5 2WD 2 weeks ago.
Although it is the SR5 model, I'm guessing the original owner apparently purchased some upgrades because
it has the 17" wheels, leather interior with heated seats, towing package and LSD.
I didn't think those amenities were standard on an SR5, which I figured was the "base model" 4runner, maybe maybe they are.
I don't know much about Toyotas, this is my first.
I can't find any info on my stereo. All I have found is that there is a JBL system with 10? speakers and a higher end system with Navigation. I have the basic stereo with a single CD player, no cassette, and I believe 6 speakers. I was wondering who the manufacturer is and how much power it puts out. It sounds really good for a stock system, I'm very pleased with it. Anyway, I look forward to hanging out here as much as possible and I'm sure I will learn a lot from all of you.

Within the SR5 trim levels there's a few option packages that keep it an SR5 but load it with goodies. I think that's what you have. All have the ATRAC (or auto-LSD) which is the brake activated Traction/LSD system.

Read through the beginning of General Discussion or the beginning of 4th gen and you'll see a brochure 'sticky'. You can read an '06 brochure and see more about those packages.

Enjoy. Its a wonderful ride. If you commute or want navigation I would recommend after market (cheaper). Real time traffic is a plus. The SR5 is a stable and superior vehicle. It is fun and comes with a legendary history.

There are four radio options for the 4Runner. Six-speaker single CD radio, six speaker six CD-changer radio, 10-speaker six CD-changer JBL Synthesis system, 8-speaker four CD-changer JBL navigation system.

The leather is either installed at port or after delivery. If it's at port it's a good chance it's by Liquid Cell and after delivery, Classic Soft Trim (CST). Both LC and CST leather from members who have them say the leather is as good, if not better, than Toyota's in the Limited. The LSD is standard on 2WD 4Runners. The 17" rims and towing hitch were options.

For navigation Eclipse units are direct swap plug and play units. A lot of members here have swapped with Scion radios, they have a bit more power than the Toyota one.

Welcome, I am sure you will enjoy the 4Runner.

My 04 has a cassette, which quite frankly I never use. Your radio can play MP3's. Which I really would rather have. Most 4Runners come with optional equipment. I have not seen a single 4th gen. with 16" wheels.
