Hello all just wanted to say hello and show off a picture or two. Now I know every one on here has 4runner so its no big deal but my 04 has the Manik Brush Guards and Tail Light Guards so I thought that might be of interest to some after reading a few post from people wondering what they look like. Any way here they are!

Question about the spoiler...
Did you have that installed youself (aftermarket), or was it port/dealer installed?

That looks really good. i have been wondering what the Manik would look like on a 4th gen. It looks much better than I imagined. I just have a couple of questions:
 
Very nice truck. Hickory Toyota is on the back of your truck. I assume that is Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota of Hickory, North Carolina. My brother in-law lives in Taylorsville and for a big night on the town they go to Hickory. It looks like you got a little snow up there. We of course have no snow in Atlanta.

Two questions:

1. How are those rear guards mounted?

2. Looking at the rear view, are there any mounting holes for your rear license plate? Looks to me like the holes are missing...

Ok guys I will see if I can answer all your questions.

First my rear spoiler was factory installed.

Second the tail guards wrap around the back side as well as two brackets that attach to the inside of the tail light with two bolts.

Third a guy I know and my self installed every thing front brush is pretty easy rear are a little harder due to how you have to install the brackets.

I will probably end up adding two PIAAs or IPFs to the front once I find the best deal. Also I will take a picture of that mounting bracket on front bumper as soon as I can get to it.

Once again I am glad you guys liked it and hope to have some more cool pics for you guys soon.
 
Try Mike at xtremeoff-road.com for the lights. Hes a really nice guy and he is were I get all my stuff from. He also has price matching :)

mp95bravo, im with ya, i think they useless, but to each his own, IMO i wouldnt spend the money on a brush gaurd, ive heard they can do more damage than good in a slow speed wreck, im gonna go with a TJM or ABR for my cash, JMO
 
I disagree about the brush guard. They enhance the overall beauty of the truck and have some function. The tail light guards are hideously ugly for one, and for two, the ones I saw installed seem very fragile and prone to shake. If used for "protection," they are not worth it. Anything that impacts them will crush the whole assembly anyway.
 
Off road function? what? get hung up on stuff? I'm with you on the fact that they make the truck look better. I wanted one until I started to like the looks of the bull bars. Which are not available for the 4th gen yet. The biggest downfall to the "brush guard" is that if your ever in a fender bender you can quickly multiply the dammage to your truck. Just think about it.... it will hit the whole front end instead of just the bumper. As for the rears, again... I think they look alright, but would never put them on my truck. They would just rup the whole tail light off when off road. But thats just for us ppl that use our trucks for that sort of thing. He has a nice truck. I used to, now I don't mind when a tree scratches down the side. A. nothing alittle zymol can't fix and b. I already have plenty of custom pin-striping already.
 
Actually Jaos has a really cool bull bar for the 4th gen, but they are expensive as poop....Westin & Tal Hadas also have bull bars for the 4th gen that are a little more reasonable.

Personally I think Stinger's truck looks awesome. I know that the tail gaurds aren't everybody's cup 'o tea but if he likes 'em that is what matters. As far as functionality......that's pretty funny. I have lighted running boards on my truck, but have yet to step foot on them, but I like the way they look. I also have a tow hitch and haven't even taken the plug out of it. I don't take it off because it doesn't bother me. I also have a roof rack but have yet to use it either, but I like the way it looks, so to each his own. Good job on the truck Stinger. :cheers:
 
Jaos makes a bull bar??? Got a pic?? :D I'm talking about a bull bar ie tjm/arb not bull bar like a push/light bar...

Thats very true... thats something I didn't touch on, whatever makes the owner happy. There isn't that much better of a feeling than being proud of your rig. Well, I guess that would be about even with being proud of a significant other... and walking through a club or something and just know everyone is looking. THAT is a good feeling.
 
oh, I thought you were talking about the push type bull bar. Nope I don't think they make a tjm/arb style bumper yet. I love all their stuff, but damn it is expensive.
 
Stinger, I don't think I like you now. I keep torturing myself by looking at your pics and now decided that brush guard is what I want.........getting it is a entirely different story......married guy will understand that.:D
