new member with a question

Hello, glad I found this site. Just got a 2007 SR5, its bigger and badder than I thought it was going to be, drives nice too! One question, has anyone else had their airbag light on the gauge cluster intermittenly go on and off (the light that looks like a person sitting with the airbag inflating)? It is random, and occurs about 10% of the time. I would start the vehicle and the airbag light would continue to flash while driving. most of the time it would stop this if i restart. Some days it would be on all day, or it could go a week without incident. Bad ground somewhere? any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Since its new, bring it to the dealership. Have them find the problem. The SRS system isn't something to be taken lightly.

It should light up when for around 5 seconds after you start the car, but it should not blink. I would bring it to the dealer and have then check it out. I would have to say it is a bad sensor.

The owner's manual states that the light comes on for about 5 seconds when the ignition is first turned on. If it comes on at another time, the manual says "take to the dealer immediately." I think that is about the only time the manual uses the word "immediately" so I would take it very seriously.

My advice would be to do what the Toyota TV ads say and get "Moving Forward" toward the dealership in an ASAP posture.

I too have an 07 sr5 4wd -the SRS light blinks, it is intermittently when I restart the car it goes away.

What did the dealer do? what did they replace?

it was a bad wire connection under the driver's seat,

Dealer says they could not duplicate -I have seen it come on blinking twice last month.

it won't. I tried it at first.

I took videos of the blinking light with my phone. I showed the tech the videos because of course it wasn't blinking when I was at the dealer.
