This is the first 4runner i've owned, but wont be the last. I have actually never owned a truck and i enjoy riding up high and driving over and through everything i can. ( curbs, rocks, big mud puddles, the neighbours lawn, etc.)
So i accuired this truck through a trade on kijiji.ca. I traded it and a parts truck for a 97 audi A4. The Audi neded clutch, t-belt, and other suspension work, so i was looking to get rid of it before i had to drop lots of cash in a car that wasn't worth it. Ended up asking this guy if he would like to trade and he agreed with a little wheeling and dealing we traded.
I haven't done anything to it yet but clean and oil change.
It has a bull bumper and a 8000lbs winch. I'm cleaning the winch up right now, the casing over the motor had cracks and let in alot of moisture on the contacts. Thats why it is wrapped around the bumper.
I have lots of plans to mod it. but i would lik to make more power out of it and get all the mechanical back to good condition.
What options do i have for motor? Whats the most common and the best swap? It is currently a 3.0 5spd.
