Hey my name is Case, and I've been lurking around these forums for a couple weeks. I finally decided to register. Here are some pictures of my 03 SR5 V6 Titanium after I went mud riding on saturday. I couldn't believe how much mud this 2WD 4runner could get though. Water was up just above my running board on the right side, I was in Louisiana gumbo mud and still pulled out. I did finally get stuck later in the day when my left side dipped down into a rut that was larger than I expected and I bottomed out. It took an hour with a Z71, with 35s to pull me out. Anyway here are some pics, I'll get some more after I clean it up.
P.S. I've added the T&H Bullbar, the PIE adapter, and a chrome 4runner license plate frame.

So you did all that mudding with a 2WD model? Wow, maybe I should go have me some fun too!

Did it all in 2WD with Michelin Cross Terrains with 53,000 miles on them. I'm pretty amazed. I did find though that you have to turn Traction Control off to get enough traction in 2WD. I sometimes had to rev pretty high, but it would begin to move slowly and get out of whatever I was in. I'm thinking about getting some Bridgestone Dueler Revos in the 265/70/17 size. Anyone with these know how they do in mud? I don't go mud riding a lot since im only 2WD, and I want some good road tires with some mud capabilites as well. Which tired would be betterrr, the Revos or the BFG All-Terrain KOs.

Also, all of those pictures were earlier in the day before we got stuck. It was about two or three times that muddy after. I had to go to one of those do it yourself car washes to power wash the mud off sides, wheel wells, and undercarriage, and then I finished up the outside and cleaned the inside today.

With those pictures, are you sure your truck isn't 4WD? I didn't realize that the 2WD 4Runner's were that capable! Your truck looks the way it should with all that mud. I think 4Runner's look better covered in mud rather than salt. How long did it take you to clean?

It took about 15 min and $4 at the do it yourself place to spray off most of the mud on the outside. When the truck got stuck i had to get in and out through the passenger side since the left side was almost in the water so I got the interior and leather a bit muddy so that took about an hour and a half to vacum and clean well. My friend who had the Silverado Z71 4x4 said that the 4runner felt like a 4WD in the mud, and made it through spots easily that another friend's 2WD Explorer got stuck in. I will take pics of the truck in action next weekend. I got this car as a hand-me down from my dad, and when he bought it he didn't need to 4WD, although I was dissapointed I'm really suprised at how well it's doing, I can't wait to try some new tires to see if it can do even better.

When I do go mud riding, I have to turn off Traction Control and sometimes I have to continually rev in the 4-5k range to get enough wheelspin to get unstuck, are there any consequences to doing this, or is it ok for the engine?
