Well what i have read up on the s/c i do not believe there are many fuel problems with them until high speeds are reached. The first upgrade i would make would be either a new fuel pump or a fuel booster. The other thing that could need to be changed would be the ecu unit which you may want to upgrade to an adjustable unit. Id check out gadgets site. http://www.gadgetonline.com/

I also know only what I have read-but TRD itself has acknowledged that additional amounts of fuel are needed when the s/c is spooled up and the vehicle is at top speeds. I believe a 7th spark plug is introduced to help properly burn the increased fuel load-it's not a cheap proposition by any means....
Plus you are likely already aware that Premium fuel is not only requested-it's a requirement on the S/C engines. With the type of driving a S/C will likely induce you to do-I would also go with synthetic oil changes.
There is a tradeoff for everything dang it.....

You will need nothing more than a simple fuel controller such as an Apexi S-AFC (super air flow converter). This will let you richen and lean-out the fuel curve in 1K rpm increment's. Although it's NOT rocket science with any "blown" engine I recommend putting it on a dyno that read's a/f ratio's so you KNOW where you need to "tweek" the fuel curve's at.Ron Helmuth said:

You're right. The problem is motor going lean - if you look at Gadget's kits, they include not only a 7th injector but also an upgraded fuel pump....Lots of discussion about this over at yotatech.... Texas 4runner is right about the dyno ....
If it was mine, I would go with the URD 7th injector kit (with a 255 pump) and the optional AFR and then schedule a day at a good dyno shop with a wideband to determine what else needs to be done to tune....

I finally checked out the URD kit and found that it's user tuneable so please disregard my uneducated :bash: reference to the S-AFC.Finelygotone said:

Unfortunately not as a lady in a BMW 7 series ran me off the road onto a median and it bent the frame.Finelygotone said:
Sorry for going off-topic everyone now back to 4Runner's as I am about to go test drive this '02 4x4 with only 90K on it and it's an SR5 but is fully loaded. They are asking $16.9K which is $4K ABOVE blue book and other 4Runner's with the same mileage. I used to work for this dealership so I will be pressing them HARD to get them down to my price range.
I already have my own financing approved and will be puting down a $5K cash downpayment also, wish me luck!
