Hi Everyone, I am new here. :hello:

I have a 2002 4Runner SR5 which I purchased about 2 years ago. I love it, but I have one big complaint. TRACTION CONTROL. I came upon this site wile searching for more information about the system. We are getting our first major storm here in New Hampshire and as much as I like having skid control, sometimes I would like to disable it while in 2wd. Is this possible? From what I have read so far, It cannot be done. I have not searched the forum yet, but I have read the post dedicated to the topic.

Basically, as immature as it sounds, I just want to do donuts and slide around.

Any suggestions would be great.

I have been reading the tread on VSC and ATRAC http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12

:D

I also have noticed some of the members own M3's. :hat: I visit E46 fanatics quite a bit, as I love BMW as well.

Thanks,
SHICKS

nothing wrong with doing dougnuts. I wished my V8 could be put in 2wd so I could do some dougnuts. Damn full time 4wd.
Welcome aboard.
If I want to do dougnuts I take out the Mustang.

Shicks, a quick answer to you: NO. You canNOT turn off VSC in 2wd mode on a 4wd 4runner model. You can ONLY turn off VSC when you lock the center diff, which requires your to be in 4HI.

BTW, if you want a M3 specific forum, then try this one:

http://www.m3forum.com/

Hope this helps.

I was doing doughnuts in the driveway around noon time. Trying to move the stang from one side of the garage to the other. One side has a elec. opener. Put my wife's Jeep on that side. My stang is starting its hibernation for the winter. Maybe it'll wake up in the spring with a turbo if its lucky and santa thinks it has been good.

I went out this morning. I locked the center diff, and the VSC was off. When I got going the trac cont. did not kick in much, and I was able to do as many doughnuts as my heart desired.
