Also new, have a problem the internet doesn't have an answer for yet! Orginal owner 2000 3rd Gen with a rebuilt engine pushing 300k, in otherwise great condition, transmission weirdness going on - trying to get out of a parking lot last night all shifter positions but park (including neutral and reverse) sent me forward in drive :/

So I have use of a spare car when I’m on holiday in Fl. The 4Runner is owned by my son in law, but it’s been neglected as he has an alternative.
The ac is broken, he purchased a kit from Amazon quite some time ago with everything, but he got promoted and works massive hours, and hasn’t been able to make time to install.
I wondered what a local mechanic, who installs customer parts would charge to fit the new kit?
The son in law says it’s a big job?
It’s also determining the logic of spending a decent sum on a car worth $3000/$5000 which needs other work, it’s been neglected somewhat but the engine is sweet as a nut

Hi, new member here. I don't have a 4Runner yet, but I am looking for a 3rd gen as my next project vehicle. I also have a Jeep Wrangler and a Subaru Outback so I am just collecting offroad capable vehicles.

New member here also. I have a 2022 4Runner that I bought with 7K miles on it from a Tucson dealer, where the previous "owner" used it as a rental car until he got his special order delivered.
