that guy needs to recheck his math. He says 300 miles per tank (in the description), and we have 15 or 16 gal tanks right?

That's about 19mpg.

After my 3" lift and mud tires, I still get 300 miles per tank, at least. Just gotta know how to drive..
 
Just thought of something else too. That 35mpg could be an instantaneous mpg reading from a scanguage II or something. My friend has one in his Tacoma and it does that.
 
Seems like a load of B.S. to me... 35mpg in a 4runner really???

and then his description says 300 miles per tank but that's nothing out of the ordinary? I get a little better than that so not sure about this guy....
 
Yeah he must be breathing in too much hydrogen or something. Of all the MPG improvement mods, this has to be one of the more random.
 
Sign me up! I was hoping someone would do a glass jar in a styrofoam holder to double stock gas mileage mod! Yes!

the guy put on the CAI at the same time and didnt know which mod caused his MPG spike, I cant see how his little setup has anything to do with it.
 
Is anyone else concerned about the rust in his jar? I mean he's forcing a chemical reaction and feeding unstable oxygen and hydrogen into his.engine. that smells like a ruat problem waiting to happen. I get 220 miles on a good week, but I beat the pissed outta my runner. I think our tanks are 18 with a 3 or 4 gallon reserve when the light goes on

Ok so I just read more into this. The system insects HHO gas into your intake plenum. This kid went through the EGR valve I believe. The reason his jar is rusty is because a more common name for HHO is H2O gas, also known as water vapor.

It is hard to believe that anyone falls for this crap anymore. I mean seriously, a mayo jar and baking soda feeding into your intake? This is neither new nor random, it has been around for a long time (and debunked by the most basic understanding of thermodynamics).

All he is doing is taxing his alternator and risking water/contamination in his engine.

Actually, HHO is not water vapor, but the mixture of dissociated Hydrogen and oxygen. You can burn it, weld with it, etc. It produces water as a byproduct. The problem comes in when he is producing it onboard. It take more energy to produce it than you get out of it, hence he is just wasting energy and taxing his alternator.

If someone has legitimate ideals for better performance and mileage for our runners please post, otherwise keep this garbage off the site.

I'm not a chemist, but from my understanding of simple chemstry:
HHO does not exist as a stable compound that can be found ins something like a jar. Water is not split into H and O, but in H2 and O2.

I got 309 miles out of my last tank - 265/75/16's, w/3" lift and ARB front end. I'll stick w/the fuel saving mods in my right foot :naughty:
 
I've actually done this mod and I get 55 mpg...but I fill my mason jar with unicorn urine (don't ask me how I get it).

Ok, you just googled that to correct me... BAD!

HHO is a common usage term. yes, it is just H2 gas and O2 gas mixed in a 2:1 ratio (hence the 2:1 ratio of H's to O's in "HHO"). By "dissociated Oxygen and hydrogen", I simply meant hydrogen gas (H2) and oxygen gas(O2) not bonded to any other elements.

If we are going to pick hairs, then you are wrong, H2O is split into 2H + O, but only for a tiny tiny fraction of a second until each H joins with another, and each O joins with another. The picture is way more complicated than that, but that is a sufficient approximation

HHO, or "2H2 +O2", whatever you want to call it, is not water vapor like you originally said.

No cheating this time. Tell me what you really think.
