I am new to this forum, I have the new SR5 2011 4Runner and also new to Toyota.

I got the Premium and Convenience Packages, remote start and running boards, and 3 years maintenance. I paid about 43K at 0% financing.

I previously owned a 2008 Pilot and to all those who wanted to know the difference ultimate between the two...drive both and make your decision. There is nothing anyone can tell you to choose one over the other.

My questions are

1. What the hell do I do about syncing my iPhone addressbook to he 4runner...no one seemed to know. I have tried the instructions in the manual and it seems like it's the phone issue. I might have to change my phone.

2. My dealer was supposed to use synthetic oil, how do I know that are actually using that?

Now that we have the formallities out the way...

They have this new fangled option here called the "search" button,,,and if you type in a subject about something that you may have questions about, (i.e. syncing iphone) it will give you all the available threads about that!!!

I had no problems syncing mine (3GS), but there is some info about that down below

43k for an SR5, are you kidding?!?! I know each state is different with taxes/fees but how in the world did it get that high? You should be running around in a LE for that price! What was the MSRP/Sticker? Sorry, just a little in shock, figured you would be more around 36-38k for that rig (depending where you live)

How did you get the 0% financing, not aware of any dealers offering that with the 4R currently?

One price explains the other. His finance guy charged him $3k to buy down the interest rate. Such a deal.

yep, I was getting ready to tell him how he got screwed on price until I saw th 0%....I do think the finance guy stuck him pretty good on the true interest rate when you back figure the numbers. Depends on how many years financed. We had a local credit union giving loans at 1.99% with a max jump of 1 point each year...my interest is well under the $3000 over 5 years and I put 0 down...

$40K (assuming including TTL) is still high....

While I agree he overpaid, let's cut the guy some slack and answer his questions.

1. Sync'ing the address book can be found in your owners manual, if you have an iPhone, it's very easy.

2. Aside from them physically allowing you in the bay while they do your oil change, you won't know. However it's very unlikely that Toyota would install something outside of the requirements since they are responsible for servicing your vehicle in accordance with Toyota requirements.

Anyway, I live in NYC and before purchasing I went to Toyota's website and spec out what i was getting and according to that, it seems like I was not being screwed, except for $300 which the dealer couldn't figure out.

Sticker was 36.8k comes up to 39.56k after remote start & running boards plus 3.58 tax.

You guys were hard on me but I will not do the same. For those of you who do know to read, I stated that I tried whats in the manual and I did use the "search" button to find what I was looking for.

I agree that its hard to chew-off that you spent more than you had to - and its probably worse having total randoms give you a hard time.

I'm surprised that anyone who has internet access wouldn't do the research and try to get the best price possible.

Some simply think they have to pay the MSRP and don't try to negotiate less. It's all about being informed. For what you spent, you could of been in a limited - if that's what you wanted.

I bet the salesman and finance guys loved you!

I wouldn't worry about it at all buddy. Everyone here would have you believe they paid thousands less than MSRP due to being a savvy consumer. You'll also find that everyone here is an expert driver, clearly superior to every other driver on the road or off it.

The internet is a funny place.

I am sorry if I seemed critical as well. If I was in your situation, I would at minimum, review what I paid for the car, got to edmunds, or truecar and find what most people are paying, and then take that info to your dealer. While the deal is done, when they find out that you realize they took advantage of you, they may be willing to do something to make it right. You should at minimum have gotten at least $1500 off sticker and possibly closer to $3,000. It certainly never hurts to ask, and if you go in prepared with comparable prices, they may be willing to throw in something at no charge.

Enjoy your ride, mine looks just like yours (I added chrome nerf bars and I LIKE the way they look) I have had mine a little over a month..and I am lovin it!!
