new not so custom bumper

Guys just got my front and rear "custom" bumpers from Kennesaw Mountain Accessories. I got the wincher bumper up front with the extra lights and the rear bumper in the rear with the multijack carrier.

I will tell you guys something from my experience they have been nothing but problems. I ordered my bumpers May 17th. They said 4-6weeks. I just got them today. i was told 3 different stories by the same person about the status of my bumpers.

Finally they come in. Half assed wrapped in cardboard with tape every which way. truthfully not a big deal they are big hunk of metal.

So i figured i would give them a dry run to see how everything looked. Yeah right!!!!!! this custom bumper for the front built for "a 1988 TOYOTA 4RUNNER" did not fit. It looked sweet while my buddy was holding it there. but alas the mounting holes were a 1/2 inch off. with no room for redrilling. this was just the top mounting holes. no matter which was you tried you could only get one bolt in. I figured hey i'll go try the other two 4runners sitting in my yard. nope no fit. The lights that are inlayed do not fit the wholes cut for them are two big. so they do not stay at all.

All the screws they sent me for mounting were not even close in thread size. do not even get me started on the rear bumper. Oh wait thats right I do not even know where to start as there were no instructions whatsoever. just a bunch of parts that i have no clue how they go together. Just for the record I am pretty handy when it comes to this. If would have had the tools i colud have built this thing my self.

One would think when you spend over $1k and wait twice as long as what you were supposed to there would be no problems.

thanks for letting me vent!!!!!

sorry to hear about your troubles,, but, ya should have checked, do a little research, they have a VERY bad name. VERY bad customer service.
I truly hope they fix things for you, post up pics.
I dont think Ive heard anything, good about them.

i Heard they were kinda slow and customer service sucked but when you got your product it was good. I got off the phone with them today and they told me we sent directions and i know cause i packed them with the screws. For the record the screw box was about 2" x 2" packed with nuts and blots. if there were directions in there they must have been written on the inside of the box in code!!!!!

The guy who owns this place tells me what spec is for the front mounting holes and that these older toyotas have settled and may not be where they should. I find that hard to believe cause i measured the exact some thing on 3 1988 toyota 4runners sitting in my yard.

Then i was told that there was welding to be done. This is to be done by a "competent 4wd shop" I have every tool to do this job with except a plasma cutter and a welder. No where on there website does it say professional insatllaiton required or welding.

I am so over this company. F them and everyone who works there. the guy who runs that place is a prick. My lawyer will be sending them a letter about being sued and other things.

yep, that sounds like them.....

My lawyer will be sending them a letter about being sued and other things.

i just got my high lift jack for my birthday and nothing but problems from kennesaw mountain bumpers. The mounting points for the the jack on the rear bumper did not line up at all. I got my jack from harbor freight i figured it would fit. well i was wrong.

You think when you order something custom the shop would at least tell you what jack they used for measurements so you could get the same one. well think again. I was told to beat the brackets with a hammer until they fit. I did that and they are crooked as hell. plus you can not even put the tailgate down when the jack is there. Why would one even want this.

As per KYLE from kennesaw, " I tell people not to put the brackets there fro that reason" why would you even give people the choice to put them there. these guys suck ass so bad its not even funny. I paid extra for the lift mounts. I will not even be able to use them.

DO NOT BUY JACK FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!

not sure. one guy can lift it to move it around. its huge!!!! i would not be afraid to run into someone with it.
