Just thought to make this and find out how everyone got their 4runners. How much and are you happy with your deal?

Very happy with the brand new runner and I would like to think I got a good deal. All 3 of my T4R have been great (thats why I am on #3 
) For some reason its the kind of truck you buy, change the oil every 3-5 K and before you know it you have a ton of miles on her and its time for a new one.

Got a great deal on mine even though it was a year old.......Saved a ton over buying brand new in 4wd.
Next time I might consider buying new if I can beat the dealer down to a good price though. They didn't budge this time unfortunately.

Used '05, purchased on Halloween '08 while the Phils were on parade in the city. I *always* buy used. I drive too far daily (60 mi) and on the weekends to dog shows, so why pay for the depreciation when someone else already has for me?
Dealer wanted 19,900, and negotiatied over the phone to 18,500, then got $7640 trade-in on my '02 Highlander (also used) with 133,000 mi. Highlander was paid off in the deal, so we didn't roll anything into the 4R.
Yeah, the 4R needed some minor recon work, but for $150, light sanding and paint took care of the brush marks on the side trim and looks almost new.
And here's a tip. If you trade in your 4R (or any car) that has nav and Homelink...it's wise to clear the memory on both. I got the name, home address, dealership information and most likely the garage code of the previous owner. They even traded the car in at the dealership, who you would think would have done this before sending to auction.

I bought used for $23k when new one is like $52k CDN. Dont see a point getting new unless you have nice bank account

Got used 2005 SR5, titanium metallic, 4x4, V8, leather, Immaculate with 27K for $17.600. Can not be more happier!

In 1980 I bought my first new car and pretty much stuck with that. In 2001 I looked at a 4Runner, I did look at used but the 99's were not much less than new. So, I bought new.
Last year, I looked at buying a 2008, the price was down less than I paid for my 2001, but the used ones were really down. I bought a used one,(04 4Runner), the first time in over 30 years, I have done so.

Bought my 1st 4Runner used as I figure I saved about 40% off new and other than some changes in bells and whistles there are no substantial difference in options, etc.
I just purchased my 2006 V8 4x4 Sport Edition with 38k for $18,999 about 2 weeks ago. Also, saved hundreds in registration and excise tax!

Awesome input everyone. Kudo's for taking the time to post on my thread. Informative also. I myself purchased new and was able to get 5000 off the sticker for my 06 v8 4x4 sport. Total out the door with tax, license and options was 34,600. I could have saved another 1000 but I ended up falling for the alarm and lojack. Anyways I hope this thread gives all ball park figures when purchasing 4runners. Keep the posts coming.
