New Owner Here (Pics)...Couple Questions

Hey guys,

New owner of a 1996 4Runner Limited. I used to be driving a 98 Pontiac Bonneville my parents got for me after I wrecked my first car as punishment I guess. The Bonne had 230k miles on it...the Runner has 130k miles on it, so it's definitely an upgrade for me.

The previous owner didn't take care of the leather very well though and I was trying to find someplace to get new bottom seat cushions...I've done a couple searches and come up with nothing...

The other question I had was does anyone know of any trails or offroad locations around the Dallas area? I hate having a car like this and just pushing it around in Dallas traffic. Needs to get off of the road. :driving:

Super clean man! Nice lookin runner. It's kind of ironic cause my buddy Just bought an 01 Limited that is black and looks almost identical to yours and on top of it he previously drove a Pontiac Boneville with high mileage too... Pretty funny! Welcome to T4R and best of luck!

I'm using a Nikon D60 DSLR. Bought it about a year ago and love it.

Nice find and welcome to T4R! A 14 year old truck with only 130K is hard to get, and with a locker too! (that means you most likely have 4:30 gears btw) How's the undercarriage, any rust?

Is it lifted or are those just little tires? Take some pics of the coils and shocks and we'll tell you what you got if you're not sure.
 
Welcome bro. Thats a nice find. it reminds me of the first day i picked mine up. i see you already removed the side steps also.
Check mine out, picked her up with 62k and now she @ 87,120 i have had her for litte over a year now an nothing major yet.

This is the place that sells the seat covers on ebay:

96'-02' 4runner backrest and bottom leather covers tan: eBay Motors (item 180533329544 end time Aug-13-10 17:39:10 PDT)

If you contact them they will sell you the pieces individually for 150. There feedback seems pretty good on the covers.

Thanks! There's a little rust. The previous owner went to school up in the north. But it shouldn't be a problem. It snows here maybe once a year. And it's not lifted. Bone stock for the moment. He's had the shocks replaced and I don't remember the brand of them. I think the coils havent been replaced either...I'll check it out though.

Thanks and it looks like we had the same truck before you modded her. Yeah first thing I did was take off the running boards.

Yeah, mines a 96 limited w/e-locker as well. Dono if you got 6 disc changer and auto starter? Auto starter got taken out by seller, but i already got rid of stack CD changer and replaced with 5-1 dvd/gps system. I think all 96 Limited 4x4 versions are the best 4runner ever made; every day I love my truck more even though I have a 2006 Maxima that’s begging to get some drive time. Hope you enjoy your ride and transform her into a beast
 
Great find. Awesome skills w/ the d60 as well.
I am in the DFW area as well and hit up Bridgeport offroad park yesterday as a matter of fact. Great trails for all levels. Bridgeport is about midway between FTW and Wichita Falls.

Wow I don't know if it's just me or the lighting but your paint looks almost brand new, considering its age and the fact that it's black! Nice find.

Thanks...It's manly just the lighting haha...it definitely has some swirls in the paint but it looks very good overall for being 14 years old.
