I just acquired a well maintained 97' Limited with 116K and I'm pretty excited.
I've been a VW owner for the past 17years so Toyota's are completely foreign to me. The ergonomics are quite different.
The wife and I bought two new VW early last year, a Jetta TDI and Tiguan 4Motion. We recently discovered that our little family was getting bigger and she decided she wanted something bigger. Our solution was to sell both new cars, get something used for me and her a new large crossover... Pilot, Highlander ect..
I had heard that a guy in my office was thinking about selling his 4Runner so I asked him about it. His wife was pretty attached to it even though they never drove it.
He convinced her to sell it and told me would take 3K for it. I knew it was worth more so I told him to think of a more reasonable number and I would take it off his hands.
I took possession today. It's in great shape. The seats have been covered since it was new so the leather is pristine.
I had a 08' Touareg for a while but the wife wouldn't let me take it off road, too expensive and pretty to scratch up.
I can't wait to do some exploring in out in the NM desert/mountains, Big Bend and when the Narcos stop killing people, in MX.
