Hello,

I've been reading and following this forum since November '04 and have found it to be informative and interesting.

Since 1987 I have owned 2 pickup trucks, both Ford 150 4X4's. I started shopping for a new vehicle last June and test drove a bunch of SUVs. It became obvious to me that for what I needed/wanted the 4Runner was the best value. I purchased a 2005 SR5 at the end of December and have really been enjoying it so far. This is my first Toyota and first SUV. I was impressed by Toyota's overall reliability and durability and have always liked the 4Runners. I really like the looks of the new 4Runners!

I'm looking to get ten years out of my new 4Runner. I am pretty strict about maintaining my vehicles, but I'm not afraid to work them either (within their design conditions of course).

Wish me luck with my new "truck".

Like you, I purchased my 4Runner SE back in Dec. I hope to get more than 10 yrs out of it(my 1990 Camry is in it's 15th yr). So, goodluck to your new SUV and may you enjoy it for years to come;):

Thanks for the welcome!

I have been reading the posts here and on some oil forums on oil changes, intervals and oil type trying to decide when to make the first change, and whether to do the changes myself or let the dealer do it (I have always done my own). If I do it myself I get to pick the oil, which is a big plus for me. Not sure which way I will go yet, though.

Also considering getting the Homelink from Partznet and a Husky cargo mat.

Decisions, decisions!! But I am enjoying it, and just getting started.
