I am pleased to say that I just picked up my new 2010 Salsa Red Trail Edition yesterday. I have owned two Isuzu Troopers and most recently a 2002 Rodeo, and they served me well. Isuzu dug their own grave in North America when they discontinued the Rodeo and Trooper after that trumped up Consumer Reports smear about rollovers. I have always admired the 4Runner, and I am glad to finally be onboard with Toyota, and feel especially lucky to have found exactly the Trail Edition that I wanted. I am a happy (61-year-old) boy.

So far, I love the truck. I won't be able to say much about its off-road capability until I get out west this summer.

There is a special section on here for the new 2010 4Runners called 5th gen T4Rs - it's finally here!!!
Good reading on the new 4Runners over there and answers to any questions you might have. I think there is another member who has a Salsa Red Trail Ed. member too.

Thanks for all the kind replies

I just wanted to thank everyone who responded with such warm welcomes. I've had a few 4Runner-owners stop in parking lots and say hello. It's obvious that owners are very faithful to their vehicles. Thanks to the member who pointed me to the 2010 group. I will post there in the next few days. Maybe someone will eventually start a specialized group for Trail Edition owners.
