What did you notice was different between the stock tires vs the KO2s?

The biggest difference, by far, is the sound. The KO2s are IMO at least 50% quieter than my previous Duratracs. The Duratracs looked better but the KOs were not as loud and hummy. The pictures show the difference in looks, I wish they showed the difference in sound.
As far as how they ride I didn't see too much of a difference.

So I dropped off my 4Runner at the dealership this morning.
Aside from taking a look at my vibration problems, they have to keep it for 4 days to fix a deep scratch one of their techs made on my vehicle.
The loaner they gave me is a 2018 4x4 SR5 4runner. I have been driving this around A LOT today to compare with mine.
I have noticed that although this one has a vibration at the steering wheel also, it is very very minor compared to mine. I could easily live with this.
I also took it off-roading today and actually was harsher on it than I have been with mine. I feel like this one felt a lot better off road and I did not get as much feedback on the steering wheel as I do with mine.
Overall it felt better than mine. Also, I had zero feedback on the brake pedals with this one when braking.
Only two things I can think of is that;
A. it has dunlop AT tires, and
B. it has 27K on it which means things are broken in by now.
I will keep you guys posted on what the dealership says.

That was not my experience, much better balance on the c-rated KO2s than the stock Dunlops. I know others with similar results on a 4Runner.

The key for me was finding a good tech who knows how to balance a tire. I have almost 30K on mine and they are smooth. I have C rated 265s

Thoughts on the Cooper AT3 4S?
i'm very happy with my C rated KO2's also, but it took 4 attempts to balance at 2 different discount tires. they're smooth for an AT tire, not as smooth as a P tire.

To be fair there are multiple threads on balancing for Goodyear Duratracs as well. I'm sure we can find threads for other tires. The more I look into this the more I feel these 4Runners are finicky & delicate when it comes to slightly off balanced tires. I had a shake with my Duratracs, no shake with my KO2s.

This was exactly my situation. Got a good tech and finally had them balanced correctly. Diligence is the key.

Just my .02. I learned with my 3rd gen how important a hub-centric balance was compared to a lug-centric balance. Tire shops need a hub-centric adapter to balance Toyota wheels. Of course a Toyota Dealer should know this.
I'm a 5th gen now. Haven't balanced my tires yet so I can say from experience if the hub-centric adapter is required on the 5th gen, I strongly assume it is. FWIW, I have the bridgestone duelers. They ride smooth, no steering wheel shake at all. I don't love the tire but it is smooth with no steering wheel shimmy/shake.
Make sure you're balancing is set up for hub-centric. If your balancer doesn't know what you are talking about find a place that does. The adapter is expensive but required to balance all hub-centric wheels properly.

This is what fixed all my 3rd gen tire issues as well. I still have the stock dunlop AT20 on my 4Runner. Doubt I’ll do much to it. I hated the ride of my lift and E tires on the 3rd gen. This 5th gen is so smooth and quiet, and actually comfortable on road.
