New Owner - STL

Hello all! New owner here from the St. Louis area. We just picked up an '06 Titanium Metallic SR5 4WD V6 with 28k. We're pretty stoked that we found it and were able to jump on it. As you guys are surely aware, the search was somewhat long for the right truck. I'm not new to cars or forums and am somewhat active on the Acura Legend Forum. I do all of my own maintenance and detailing. Our other vehicles include a '95 Acura Legend Coupe which is my daily, and a '92 Accord Coupe with 373k that just became my 16 year old's car.

This is our first Toyota as we've been Honda people forever. Also my first experience with more than one drive axle. I'll be picking up some factory service manuals and maybe a fresh set of floor mats right away. I also have a couple of minor issues I need to address and will be doing so this weekend. One of which I will search here to see if it's a common problem. The rubber window seal on both rear doors is pinched/rolled in on the top edge of the windows in a couple of spots. I've tried repositioning the seal and closing the windows, but I suspect I'll have to buy new seals. The other issue is that the fuel door hinge pin is bent which causes it to be difficult to move and it rubs the body slightly when fully opened. I'm betting this is NOT a common issue and is due to the door being opened too far/forcefully.

Anyway, I'll be spending some time here getting familiar with the vehicle and hope to one day be able to contribute. Below is one of the pics from the dealership ad. Aside from the issues above, the truck is in absolutely beautiful shape inside and out. I can easily see us still owning it well after 200k.

Take Care,
Dave

Nice! I think I test drove that truck before I got mine. Did you get it form Lou Fusz Kirkwood? I got my first 4runner form there last month. 2005 Titanium Silver V8 Limited. I went form a Pathfinder to a 4runner and have not been happier. I just put in an ipod adapter and tinted my windows on WED. Next thing will be the Daystar leveling kit. You'll love this site! Very helpful people on here. Hope you enjoy it.

Welcome, what dealer did you get it from? Mine came from Lou Fusz as well. If you want some OEM carpet floormats let me know. They are pretty much brand new, I have had allweather mats in my truck for the last 4 years. That is great mileage for an '06, my '05 has 90k.

I did buy it from Fusz in Kirkwood, though *I think* I swiped it right after they put it on the lot. It was listed as "coming soon" for several days so I finally went by on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings to see if it was hiding on the lot somewhere. I didn't see it on Tuesday, but saw it and scooped it up on Wednesday. They currently also have a '09 Titanium Limited V8 with 16k on it, but that would certainly be too rich for my wallet. It sure looked nice though.

I actually am in the market for some new mats. I have a friend who might also have a set that I'm waiting to hear back from. The ones that came with it aren't horrible, but a new set would really be nice since the rest of it is so close to new. I'll shoot you a PM - thanks!
