i posted this in new member thread but i wanted to post it here respectively in my fellow 3gen members!!!!! crappy pic at bottom from seller...:gun5:
i am now a proud owner of a new-to-me 2000 4runner 4x4 with sport package. it is millennium silver metallic with only 58k miles... yes i said 58k miles... im purchased it at a little high of a price ($11k)but around the D.C. area, its hard to find one that isnt all beat up, lowered, bullet holed, or just rusted... it was owned by this old guy that babied it for 10 years to and from work.. he is the original owner with clean carfax... i got the PPI done and everything is perfect... i picked it up saturday morning...
i know im going to get a lot of replys like: this thread is worthless without pics, blah blah but i dont care... im just too excited to hold back and wanted to introduce myself beforehand... i know all about the MOD BUG and im sure its going to hit me hard but as of right now i have a dedicated track car for all my funds to go into...
i will update with pics at a later time but all replys are welcome, encouraged, and please let me know if there is anything i should do right now for this car BESIDES fluid changes, lube driveshafts..... thanks in advance!!!!

Welcome to the board ! Great looking Runner, for sure if you spend any time on this site you will get the mod bug :D
Lots of good ideas on here !

Wow, very sweet! Unbelievable miles, good to find one by someone who didn't abuse it (and apparently hardly ever drove it!).

My '93 300ZX has 92K miles, and I changed the timing belt at 40K back in '02. Be aware that things wear out with age as well as use, so probably need to go ahead and change the timing belt since it's 10 years old. Same goes for the tires... If they're 10 years old I would put on a new set.

Great find and a low mileage one which explains the price plus the area. I was out in DC a few years ago and I think I saw 4 3rd gens (2 were 2wd) in the week I was there;here in Colorado I don't think I can drive a half mile without seeing several gen represented let alone several 3rd gens. :p

Congratulations and welcome!! Feels good to get a hell of a new ride and deal really especially on such a popular and dependable SUV.

So when are you gonna get the clear corners, lose the running boards and lift it a bit? Thought I'd start it. It would look great with just a stock '99 coil lift and nice 265/75 AT's. Looks good and clean though, hope You enjoy it!

Looks good! I think the price was pretty fair because it has such low miles. I agree with bulger22 a set of 99 coils and 265/75 would look great on this truck.

Welcome to the forum and nice find! Welcome to the low mileage club too, haha.

Yeah you'll definitely catch the mod bug. First it will be removing the running boards, then clear corners, tail lights, lift, tires, and your plans for the 4Runner will go on and on!

haha thanks for all the replys guys.. i love this truck in stock form but i am already looking for aftermarket stuff.. lol.. i feel really good about this truck and the miles it has... i have to go get it inspected and registered first.. then everything will come..

i am currently looking for the newer style painted front grill as this one is really dated... i like the 02 style sport package ones and if u guys/gals know where i can get one for cheap, please let me know.. thanks in advance again and please keep the replys/comments coming!!!!!:zoom:

The cheapest place I've found stuff is right here on T4R, their classified section. Catch is you gotta keep your eyes open and be on your toes.

hi, congrats on the ride. im new to this forum also but already have done a few things suggested here. One of the easiest was disconnecting Daytime Running Lights, thanks T4R that 1 thing alone would have been worth joining but theres so much more I want to do now. Have fun with your new ride
