Well, I finally joined T4R even though I've lurked here for quite some time.

To be honest I've been doing quite a bit of research over the past year on 4th Gen Runner possibilities as my next build. But, until that time, I'll continue enjoying my 3rd Gen (2001) Nissan Pathfinder.

No NISMO haters please. Seriously, I think I have a few 3rd gen folks on here (that I run with all the time) that can vouch for me!

Welcome to the forum! Is that duhockey's truck? or toykidd? Or Jeff's old truck? Or am I wrong altogether lol
 
Good looking Pathfinder man! I've spent enough time under a 2000 Xterra to know that Nissan's suck. Just kidding. I love that truck, its built like a tank. Yours is too from looking at it.

:welcome: 4th gens are great, would this be like a DD or a dedicated trail rig?

alsom curious to how the pathfinder compares? I saw a built up frontier today that looked pretty cool, had a snorkel and stuff
 
Very common in the 3rd Gen Nissan Pathfinder world:

Other than being built as a uni-body, it's honestly quite capable (the rear flexes well and has LSD) and it came with a beast of a stock engine for a 2001 SUV (240 HP/255 FTLB). Aftermarket support is more than lacking cause no one really wheels these like so many other vehicles (Jeeps, Yota's...), so much of what you see on mine is custom or made-to-fit.

I'm interested in the 4th Gen Runner because of several reasons. I want more space and more power (V8 to tow my trailer). But I also wanted to make sure that I can still wheel my favorite trails, be my daily driver, and actually have some aftermarket support. It also helps to have folks like Jeff and Dylan as wheeling buddies to bounce ideas/concepts off of.

Basically I'd be looking right off the bat at a 3" ToyTech lift, 1" body lift, 33's w/rims, and then I'll armor it up as I go. That's the basic plan and I even have the wife on board for the build. Just need to pick the right time to off-load the Pathfinder (which will bring a tear to my eye and will make my oldest son hate me for years knowing I'm not saving it for him). I'm in no hurry to sell it since it's just plain awesome as it stands right now and only has 120K miles on it.

Any ways, thanks everyone. I'll be around - using the "SEARCH" feature to start my list of questions to post. Ha!

Oh, I read the first four words, it was the last 3 words that lost me $5.

It was an inside joke just for me - to remind me of a bet I lost because of that post. I wasn't intending to explain it, but now since you questioned it, it seems kind of humorous to me.

A coworker (a Jeep fanatic) said that I'd get ripped for posting up as a Nissan Pathfinder owner on this forum. After much debating we decided that I may not get ripped given that my next vehicle will most likely be a T4R (and that's why I joined), but that there would be some comment comparing Nissan/Pathfinders (negatively) to Toyota/4Runners (positively).

I bet him that there would be at least 5 welcomes before that happened. He said it would be the first or second posted response, but he jumped all over the bet for not in the first 5. So I lost the bet quite readily with your response as the second response to my introduction...and so there went my $5.

It's a 2006 Limited V8 with just over 80k miles.

This might give an idea of just how far I went to get the rig I wanted to start my build:

I might not post much but that's just because I'm lurking and using the "Search" feature a lot.
 
Welcome, and nice Pathfinder. Not too often you see any modded Pathfinders, especially 3rd gen or later. I had a couple 1st Gens, besides the garbage auto trannies, they gave me no issues and got me where I wanted to go.
