New Pioneer Avic D3 installed

I just wanted to post pictures of the in dash navigation system that I just got installed.

I always wanted a GPS device and had a roady XT installed with a belkin cup holder. But I got sick of not being able to use the cup holder and all the cables sticking out. I started looking for an in dash navigation system but the prices were high. And I found this one called Pioneer avic d3.

It also plays dvd Movies, Mp3,AAC and some other formats. It says it plays Divx movies too but i didnt try it yet.

I like to have a way so i can play movies while the car is moving. I will need find a hack for that.
 
I've been drooling over that since I came across it online a few weeks ago... damn having no money. Looks nice, enjoy it.

selcukyigit - I have the same radio on its way from Pioneer. It should arrive any day...I can't wait until it gets here.

Did you use the Pioneer dash installation kit or an aftermarket? I know I have to buy one but I am trying to decide wheter to buy the one from Pioneer or the kit from Crutchfield. Any thoughts?
 
Awesome unit you have there! I will definitely be getting one of these in the near future hopefully!
 
you can add a 6 disc changer to it for like $170 brand new at retail. Or you can buy one on ebay for really cheap. I have a 6 disc pioneer changer and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
 
How do you bypass using the factory NAV unit?

Cool pics. How did you not have to burry your factory system to work with the JBL Amp? See my thread on AVIC Z1 issues....Can you helppppppppp?

He might not have the JBL, but Metra makes an adaptor to use the JBL amp. Circuit City sells it. Do a search. Some folks on here have used it already.
 
i went to circut city yesterday. the system will run me abiut 1900 installed with bluetooth hands free and 3yr of extended warranty and the steering wheel controller. is thats a good price
 
well lets see...

$1000 for avic-d3
$180 for bluetooth
$20 for 4runner dash kit

$150 deck/navigation install
$50 bluetooth install
$50 misc labor for amp bypass etc...

Total I'm at 1450 before tax. With tax in NC it puts it around $1550... the only thing I left off is the harness because I'm not sure which one you need. No more than another $100 for even a peripheral interface. But where you are spending unnecessary money is on the 3 yr extended warranty...

Go to a local shop... labor is lifetime and generally speaking their warranties are cheaper than through big companies like CC or BB.

No one in here who has the D3 has the JBL system? As soon as they get back in stock I plan to get one, however I'm worried about how it would fit in place of my single disk JBL headunit.
