OK, it's not a 4Runner, or a Hilux SURF..... it's so dangerous they don't even sell them in the USA anymore! It can't take a corner for shit and it hasn't been lifted at all! It has only 60 horsepower! It's NOT even a Toyota! Are you ready?










It's a 1988 Suzuki Samurai Hardtop! (SJ-70 for those who care)
Yes, it's about as rough as an 88 should be with the Caribbean sun working on it for 17 years but this thing is FUN to drive!

I still have my Hilux SURF. I just bought this thing to give me something to do. Fix it up and resell it.

I'm planing on repainting it flat black, repainting the wheels (done), putting the interior back together (someone took it apart and never put it back together) and plenty of other random things.

Well, here it is.

Excellent find! A 'hardtop' no less. A definite hobby car.

Does it still have the soft plastic strips acting as door hinges? Back in college, mid-80s, I remotely considered a soft-top Samurai. Until I test drove it and noticed plastic straps held the door on! I bought a Honda CRX Si instead. Helluva sports car.

They are definately primitive, but fun. Perfect for the island, Mon.

All you need now is 'Tatoo' and Mr. Roarke to drive you around. :driving:

That front one is the spair! It's back on the tailgate now that I got a new tire for the front.

Yes, their are rubber strips for door stops. There are actual metal hinges holding the doors on though.

I wouldn't mind a CRX Si!

I'm going to do my best to paint the doorjambs and the floor of the interior when I do the outside. I wanna paint something on the doors but I don't know what. I was thinking of a big suzuki symbol or a "01". I'm open to suggestion!

Thats the first hard-top Samurai I've ever seen. It actually looks better then the soft top. My buddy used to have a soft top one. I remember the cloth straps that held the doors on too. Too funny. Not sure what Suzuki was thinking with these? Maybe an engineer was pushing a tin can across the lunch table and said. "Hey, I got somethin' here...". Have fun with it Hilux, expendable toys are awesome!
