What do you guys think of these newer style (to me) wiper blades by rainx? Supposedly the blades put even pressure over the entire blade. They are having some sort of promotion at the link above. I have always just used the oem toyota blades myself since they have proven to be reliable and they are pretty cheap.

well one minor downside so far to this deal is that the shipping will take 2-4 weeks. :D

That's alright though, they're sending that free stuff that'll make up for it. :)
 
I bought some similar style blades by Bosch. They wiped ok , but had a problem not covering the curve of the top of the windshield , they still collected as snow as conventional blades but maybe slightly less. Not sure about the Rain X blades , just my experience with that style.

For the 4th gen. windshield I had to get a certain curve to fit the windshield. It's like an A&B style.

Right now I'm running and went back to Toyota OEM.

PIAA++++ do they blades need special adapters to hook up to the arms ? or do they click in like the regular blades? Please advise since I'm thinking of some.

Yes. The adapters are included for various vehicles. The adapters are of various shapes and sizes and I used the smallest one with the best fit. No issues.

The wipers coat the windshield with Silicone. When it rains, the water beads off the windshield. Sometimes, I don't turn on the wipers in heavy rain due to rain drops not sticking. And the windshield is clear.

The PIAA Super Silicone Wipers are some of the better wiper blades I have used. Now I check to see what they will do in the winter.
 
This promotion expired on 12/31/07; otherwise I would've ordered a pair. Living in Seattle I'm willing to pay a little extra for rain gear, and live by the Rain-X liquid.

I guess I'll go for the PIAA's now.
 
Just wanted to pass this on to you all. I live in South Florida and the PepBoys automotive store is advertising this deal: Buy one get one free on the Rain-X latitude blades. Granted its a mail in rebate but if you buy the 22' for $19.99 and the 20' for 17.99 thats onle $19.99 for both blades after the rebate. IMO thats a great price without having to go for the cheap blades. In addition, you dont have to wait 2-4 weeks for shippping and pay for the shipping if you order form the website. I just placed a set (the same size as the 2007 4Runner) on my wifes Lexus IS300 and am very impressed so far. I purchased a set for my 2007 4Runner but havent put them on since the stock blades are still good for now. Also, I remember when the rear bldes could only be purchased from the stealership but when I was in Discount Auto here in Florida, I saw that Bosch now makes rear sized specific blades for around $8-$10. (no they dont make a latitiude in the 14' size that we need for the rear).

I don't see a rear blade yet from bosch's website, so if you can get the part number for us, that would be great.
