Backing upo the other day I hit a concrete post and damaged my bumper. Friend says its a good excuse to upgrade to a aluminum bumper, and wife says OK! So Im SHOPPING!!!!

Any recommendations on a good rear bumper? I want something well made and that hopefully I can get this year! I THINK I want a tire mount, but I am also not wanting to loose rear backup camera.

First time I am buying one of these so I am not sure what else I need/want or want to avoid... so any recommendations are appreciated!

I did Chicken Corners yesterday with friends, man that was fun! Hot- 105

There have been lots of threads over the years about aftermarket front and rear bumpers - both steel and aluminum you can search for to see what appeals to you, along with info on vendors - both good and bad! Any bumper is going to be heavy and probably require a suspension upgrade and perhaps other modifications. I haven't done any mods to my 2013 SR5 - just relating what I've read over the years. The 2013 backup camera is awful and I don't use it. Hopefully Toyota makes a better one now!

Backwoods Adventure Mods looks to be releasing a combo aluminum/steel bumper in the net 60-90 days.

I stand corrected. Looks like there's a new comer to the aluminum rear bumper scene. I am curious what their listed weight will be...

Hefty's listed raw weights:
No Swing Arms: 48lbs
With Single Swing Arm: 76lbs
Dual Swing Arms: 104 lbs

I completely forgot about Coastal' s DIY bumper as well

You can move the camera to mount it on the swingout, but note that this will take as much time as mounting the entire bumper. You'll open the tailgate liner and push wires around, but in the end you can have the camera mounted at the centerline on the swingout, and adjust it so the red line is under the rearmost part of the mounted tire. And with that spare blocking your view you'll need it more than ever.
