New rear shocks

So I have just ordered the OME 884 light coils and top out spacer for the front of my 4runner, and the toytec 2" rear super flex coils. I know I can run the stock front shocks with the 884 coils, but I was advised to get new rear shocks. I was just curious what kind of shocks you guys were running in the back, most everything on toytec just says through 09.

also, anyone live in charlotte and want to help my put this on, i live in a damn apartment with no tools and im not paying 4wheel parts 23453425 dollars to put on a simple coil lift. ugh

Well remember if you are just buying coils for the front and spacers but no struts you are going to have to disassemble the front coilovers and that will take spring compressors. Just food for thought...

As for rear shocks, call up Doug at Toytec and ask him what Bilsteins he recommends for the rear of the 09 4Runners. I don't think the rear suspension has changed much and you can't go wrong with 5100's or 5125's. :bigok:

Yeah I have 5125's for the rear. And +1 on the spring compressor, it's not just a remove and replace install for the type of lift you're getting.

I installed Bilstein 5100's in the front of my Tacoma a while back and I took them to the local Pep Boys, $20 each they disassembled the Struts and reassembled with the shocks. In your case, they would be assembling with the new Coils. Of Course thats with them removed from the Vehicle. I attempted with Spring Compressor and they started to bend, so I stopped very quickly and called up Pep Boys.
