I just purchased a rear wing for my 2007 4-Runner Sport from ebay. I purchase it from : http://stores.ebay.com/TheSpoilerCompany The cost was $129.00 painted to your color of choice, LED brake light and with Free Shipping !!! Their site states that they are a main supplier to most of the dealerships for after factory spoilers. I received my spoiler within a week and it was well packaged. It came with all the proper hardware for installation. I then went over to the body shop where my dealership takes vehicles for body work which is a cadillac dealership. They quoted me $100.00 for installation, so I had them install it. I fugured not too pricey considering they have to locate the proper dealership template and drill all of the holes and do the proper wiring. So for a total of $230.00 I have a spoiler installed. after reading all of the threads about the spoiler, I figured that total price was very good. Yeah, I know its not a factory Toyota spoiler, but for the most part, you couldnt tell unless you are meticulous about details like myself, but a small scarifice for the extremely low price that I paid for the total package. The best part is that all the work is guaranteed because it is completed by a factory dealership.
- The only question i have to ask members:
the tech stated that he had to tap into the factory third brake light wiring that was in the rear door. He stated that he couldnt diconnect the original third brake wiring because it would upset the computer and it would start to trip various codes and it wasnt worth the troubles. So when I brake both lights come on. How do i take the bulb out of the original light housing? I dont see any screws to remove the lense housing.. in order to take out the bulb.
I know a minor detail and the tech shoulve done this but if I can fix it, it would save me a trip back to the dealership. :bash:
BTW I am working on posting before/after pictures...
I KNOW
