I'm so stoked! I found some on the local TTORA forum that offered to build me rock sliders for not much more than the cost of materials! I attached some photos....I love them!

awsome setup and weld job! just the same as my truck but i still got them running boards on

Those running boards were the first thing to come off! You won't believe the difference....it's like putting a 4" lift on instantly! Those things hang down way low....the only problem is, I can't seem to give those damn running boards away. I thought for sure I could sell them....not the case. Get those off there though!

hey man, my girl's dad is gonna make me sliders, and I like the style of these with the square tube and the flare out at the back wheel...can you get me more shots, a few underneath, and just a few more shots in general so he has something to base off of.
If you could stick something light colored behind them so he can see detail that would be great! thanks!
and if you could measure everything for me...most importantly the thickness of the pipe and the length of the mounts from the frame of the truck to the actual beam of the slider,and the amount of space between the two parallel beams

While on vacation one of my wife's distant cousins SLAMMED into my 4Runner while she was backing out of the driveway our cabin. My 4Runner was parked on a sheet of ice in the driveway and she pushed it a good 2 inches.
THANK GOD FOR ROCK SLIDERS! She punctured a monster hole in her bumper and as just about tore the whole thing off that poor mini van. I'm not even going to need to repaint the sliders!!! SWEET! 4Runner - 1 , Mini Van - 0!
I will get some photos and post them here. It will probably be tomorrow evening, or maybe on Tuesday as I won't have the 4runner tomorrow, my wife is taking it to work.

but only for like 100$ I think?? I dont remember anymore lol.keep trying, people will buy them.
I really do like the square tube and the design, where did you get the steel and how much???

How is everyone attaching the rock sliders to the frame? I am building a pair but am not sure welding to the frame is a good idea, I just learned the frame is heat treated (so welding to it could possibly weaken the frame) Bolting is another option but since the frame is boxed I am afraid the bolts will losen over time because it is squezing the box frame. (Hope that makes sense)
Anyways, would just like some advice and/or pics on how to attach the sliders

You weld them on, and you realize that welding them on will make the frame stonger because the weld is stronger than the metal.

yeah guys, i was going to weld my own up but this requires about 18ft of box tube with at least 3/8 sidewalls, so if you just straight out buy the steel it's going to be at least $110 bucks for a 20ft stick and that's not even counting the gussets and trusses, buying a pair @ 150-180 bucks will put you far ahead of the game once you add powder coating,welding materials, and not to mention labour, the only reason to ever build your own sliders is if you have direct access to free material and have the tools and time to do it, otherwise just purchasing this item is recommended imo, bumpers are another story though
with a $800 price tag you can easily purchase the steel and materials and save a few hundred, i have access to semi free materials (the drop materials are free and in the aircraft industry drop can be anywhere from a meter to 10 meters)
and i'm still going to just buy them, for the price of what sliders cost it's just not worth it to fool with for me, imo, in fact the only reason i can see building your own is becuase you have to have the custom or it's completely free, 99% of the time i'm on the side of just build it yourself, just on items like this labor/materials end up costing more then just buying from a company.
