New Rough Country lift? Anyone running this?

Hey guys, Rough Country now offers front spacer lift that does not preload suspension and for the rear, lift coils and shocks. The kit is only $250. Has anyone installed this kit? I just put 265/75/16 Duratracs on the Runner and looking to add a lift. This is primarily a street queen. What are y'alls thoughts? Thanks

Okay, this lift claims 3", I hate to do it but I really think 2" would look better. I've probably come across the info before but being new to the 4x4 world I'm illiterate to all the terms and were to find exactly what I need. Is there a 2" setup, where do I find it (links) and what price would I be looking at. Sorry another lift post, y'all can cuss me its expected.

I have part of this lift. I have the rough country rear coils. They ride fairly smooth. Haven't wheeled them too much. Ride is close to stock. The kit you're looking at comes with the N2.0 shocks. I'm running the nitro 9000 series. So it may ride a little different for you. I'm running the same type of spacer in the front. Just a 2 inch instead of 3. The strut spacers will help you maintain the stock ride in the front, but be prepared for alignment issues. It may take a couple tries before the shop gets it right. It did for me. Overall it's a solid lift. I would probably go with something different for a dedicated trail rig or weekend wheeler. I wheel every once in a while. So this lift does just fine for me. The only reason I wouldn't recommend wheeling it hard is because I've heard of RC coils breaking. I've also heard their shocks wear out fast too. Have almost 10k on my Nitro 9000s. They seem to be holding up well. All of my Jeep buddies run almost only Rough Country and I haven't heard a complaint yet. It's a great starter kit. Great for looks. But if you're gonna be wheeling hard, I would look at the Toytec Ultimate or a similar setup. Those front spacers are a lot harder on the front suspension (ball joints, CVs, etc) than any other setup. Hope this helps!

I felt the same way. So I'm running 2 inch cornfed strut spacers in the front. Same design as the RC ones. Just 2 instead of 3 inches. I regret going with 2 now that I think about it. After putting 285 mud terrains on, I rub more than I would like to. And that's on top of a 1 inch body lift. If you plan on sticking with 265s, 2 inches should be fine. If you plan on going bigger at some point, you'll regret not getting that extra inch. I sure do.

I might try it, I'll be ordering tires soon, and am torn between 265/70/17's or 285/70/17's, since I can't afford a lift AND tires at the same time. I could with this. I'm 95% on road too.

Yeah, for the price it doesn't sound to bad. I worry it won't look good with 265/75 but don't know how to achieve a true 2" lift that sits level with no chance of rear sag. Somebody has to know of a 2" setup.

I dont see how that front spacer does not preload the suspension. It fits above the top hat im guessing instead between the coil and top hat. I was like you guys, thinking I should go cheap. This is what happened to me when I decided to go cheap.

This goes to show you how bad these spacers are on ball joints. I'm not worried about mine. They only have 11k on them. You should be fine if you have recently replaced them, if not, and you plan on keeping your originals till they start to fail, DO NOT GET A STRUT SPACER! Haha. Coil spacers (the ones that actually go on the coil inside the strut assembly) should be alright. They may cause premature sag though. Especially in the rear.

It should look alright. The 4runner they show in the assembly video on youtube is on 265/70r16s. So basically a 30 inch tire. You're duratracs should look great with a 3 inch. I know icon used to make adjustable coil overs with a 2 inch setting. And there is an OME setup you could go with. Not sure off the top of my head. But it should give you 2 to 2.25. And it's a quality set up.
