New 4Runner with 2k miles on it...I just started to notice this behavior tonight. I was stopped on my driveway to press my garage door opener. While my car was stopped I was in drive. My driveway has a slight, not overly steep incline to it. Anyhow, when I got the garage door open I released my foot off the brake and I was about to apply it to the accelerator to drive into the garage. In the moment between when my foot released off the brake and on the gas the car slipped backwards ever so slightly. I've found this to be a pretty normal thing, even for automatics. What surprised me was what the 4runner did next...it preceeded to peep, while flashing the slip indicatator light on the dash and all the while the engine made a funny noise and the brake felt funny...like it was pulsating. It was like it was going into vehicle stability mode or something. Is this normal? I tried this a few more times...sat on my driveway, took my foot off the brake, felt the car slip backwards ever so slightly, then applied gass, all the while the car was beeping and vibrating, and flashing lights. Am I damaging the transmission or something? Not sure what to do about this short of wait on the street till the garage door goes up.
