Looks awesome, same color scheme as the aftermarket set on your '05. You took delivery of your '07?
 
Now if I can find a dealer that has the Nittos in stock would be perfect.

All the places I called said 2 weeks to wait, maybe I will go with Toyo Open Country AT's instead.

Update:

Found place in Redwood City can get me a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers 265-70-17 by monday for 130.00 each, plus 20.00 per tire to mount and balance.

Whats the avg price for these tires? Did I pay too much?

I am not sure they can do that, thats a cool idea though.

Maybe transferring a set of the logos off a set of TRD center caps might work.
 
I went down to the shop I bought the Nitto's from to have the wheels mounted and put on.

2 surprises unfolded for me when I arrived.

1. Tires will not fit unless I have the lift installed.

2. They will not mount the tires to the SE wheels without a set of TPMS sensors, said they do not want to be responsible if I get into wreak caused by wheels & tires.

Anyone ever was told that by a tire shop?

So I am taking the wheels and set of Nittos to the shop that customized my wheels to have them mount them.

My question is, I seen several people with Nitto 265-70-17's on without a lift, so why does mine need a lift to fit them?

Maybe they are saying that to get me to buy a lift from them?

Many here have up-sized to 265/70x17 with no problems at all.
Maybe they are just trying to cover their ass or maybe they don't know as much as they think they do.
When I get new tires, I will be up-sizing also.
 
I'm sure they are covering their ass. They should fit with no problem.

Remember in this day and age everyone is sue happy .

Are you not going to use the TPS ?
 
I still have my tpms sensor in my stock tires, my current AR wheels with Toyos are sensorless.

Now that shop says I need to order special lugs because my current locking lugs will not work with the SE wheels.

Is the SE wheels require special lugs?

This project is becoming a nightmare by the day, now thinking of selling the SE wheels and set of new Nittos. :bash:

Maybe it's easier if I sell the whole setup and buy some 275-60-20 Toyo OC AT's for my AR wheels I have now.

Total spent on this project:

SE Wheels: 400.00
Wheel Customizing: 500.00
Nitto Terra Grapplers 265-70-17: 560.00

Cost of set of Toyo Open Country AT 275-60-20: 1250.00

Yeah, those wheels came out great. But, $500. seems a bit much.
Had no idea it costs that much to refinish them. :(

I bought it from a S Cal member who posted it in the classifieds, drove to Pismo Beach to meet him, thanks again TLMai.

It did cost more then powdercoating (80.00 a wheel) but I think they were worth what I paid.

I already made arrangements for my 07 SE that I have ordered, they are going to black-chrome the SE wheels on that T4R.

I can't wait to see how that one comes out.
 
Is black chrome more wear resistant than powder coat?
I would love to do something like that since I have a black 4R.

As far as I know it is, doesn't scratch like powdercoating. The place I am using is pretty good if something is not right, they will fix it at no charge.

For example this happen to me recently. When I took my wheels to the place in Redwood City to have the new tires I bought from them put on. The guys at the counter said I have to put the tpms sensors in or they will not mount them. I told them I will just take the tires alone, they loaded the tires over my wheels, which scuff the hell out of them. Took them back to the guys who customized the wheels and they buffed and polished it out at no charge and then mounted and balanced the tires for me for a nice reasonable price with chrome stems and caps.

They will be completely setup for chroming by November.
