I've been dealing with the seat-noise for quite some time now. The problem is that whenever I turn or hit the speed bump, my driver's seat would make some 'popping' noise with slight-slight seat movement.
I understand there are some T4Rs with manual adjuster have some problem with their seats but my '04 Limited came with power seats.
I did take my truck in around September last year and the service advisor agreed he would special order the 'seat track assembly' and would call me when the part arrived.
He called a week later. He told me that the part is in but I ask him to double check if it is indeed for my truck because I check the part number on Parts.net and the assembly was for 4Runners with no side impact airbag. Then I got really really busy and just didn't have time to deal with it until last week.
Last week, I took my truck in for it's 30,000 mile service and decide to have the problem fixed. The service advisor ordered the part USING MY VIN NUMBER and assure it will be the right one for my truck. I took it in around 8 in the morning and got it back just right now and eveything looks great.
Now, not only the noise is gone (for now) but I got a BRAND NEW LEATHER SEAT!! I wasn't expecting the whole new seat! Talking about pleasant surprise!!
