Went this morning and had the tires installed... Maxxis Bighorn 255/85 R16.

Truck rides good, cruise control likes to hold the truck in a lower gear on the highway up hill... which I expected. But other than that the transmission doesn't seem to shift radically with the cruise off. Haven't got on it hard to see how much slower it is yet or flexed it yet to see how bad it rubs, I'll test that out soon enough. But as of regular driving overall good no rubbing what-so-ever.

Nice, do the 255/85 profile tires cost more than 265/70 or 265/75's?

Cost me $778.64 with all the taxes, got the mounting & balancing for free. The shop I went also has a roadforce machine which makes a difference also.

Had a of Bighorns on my old 88 'yota, wheeled it alot, daily drove it and just kept the tires rotated. Ended up with about 45,000 miles on them when I sold the truck and they still had a little life left in them.

That's good to hear! Maybe I'll have a few more years left in these ones! HA HA!

They look great! That size is hard to find. But they're certainly not skinny. For real world use they're probably the perfect width, even a little wide.
I'm using 245 75/16 Duratracs but I'm a little envious. I'd like the extra height.

yeah I have found they are harder to find. and only come in MEAT flavor.
not AT tire I have found comes in that size. (but I could be wrong on that)

I think I will do to much road time to get a MT tire. plus MT tires are not the best in the snow/ice.

They do good in snow, but ice......good luck.

Great tires, I had them on my Tacoma and they performed well on pavement, snow, rain, dirt, gravel, mud and rock.

I get a lot of snow driving in each year and I have to say that in deep snow the Bighorns are ok, but on packed snow and ice, they are actually the worst snow tires I've ever had. I give them an A+ off road, a C- on road and a D in snow.

they look great man! I am getting ready to put the same tire on my 4th gen. Same price here for tires but gonna cost me an additional 120 for mount balace and alig
