New SR5P -help with wheels and tires.

Good morning we just replaced our 2004 Limited with a 2018 white SR5 premium. Love it and can't wait to start modding! I have done a ton of reading on this forum and have learned a lot but looking for some help deciding on wheels and tires/ suspension.

My original plan was 17x8 replica trd pro wheels, 265 bfgs, and bilsteins at 1.75" with a 1" cornfed. This is a great looking setup but I know i will be wanting more shortly afterwards and love the looks of 285s on a 5th gen.

Problem is that i do not want any rubbing at all and I do not want to do much trimming if any at all. I would just go with 275s if they offered a C rated 275 unfortunately they do not. So is there a perfect combo for 285s with no rubbing and minimal trimming? wheels, tires, suspension?

It seems that most folks either are dealing with minor rubbing or a decent amount of trimming. Which if that is the case We will just keep the 265s.

I would just go with 275s if they offered a C rated 275 unfortunately they do not.

Cooper makes AT3's in LT275/70/17 in both C and E

There are no guarantees. If you don't want to rub then stick with stock size tires.

I've done lots of searching just haven't found an answer I like! Which most likely means that there isn't one. Ill probably end up going with 265s 1.75" bilsteins with a 1" cornfed for now.

No pain, no gain. BFG 275's barely and I mean barely rub and only in full lock reverse. Nothing that 5 minutes worth of pulling the inner liner forward didn't fix.

Rubbing is a given, but easily fixed with little effort. Don't let that deter you from making some great changes to your rig.:nod:

Here's a set of 275/55 R20 Good*Year Eagle LS-2's NO LIFT!

They rarely rub unless I CRANK the steering wheel to the stops while hitting a parking lot ramp HARD!

...but most of us here have gone bigger wrt tires & wheels w/o complaints! 'Best to you',

you'll get mild rubbing on the body mount with 285/70/17s on a stock suspension. You'll need to push your fender liners fwd and trim the excess bumper. you will have a bit of rubbing in reverse at full lock.

If you add a 1.75 lift in front, you should be fine.
