New Stereo to use with iPhone?

Hey,

Wondering if any of you have installed an aftermarket stereo that works with the iPhone. I have the original stereo with 6-CD changer and really need a nice upgrade. Not looking to get the "best" and most expensive aftermarket stereo, but want something that is reliable, looks good in my '99 4Runner, and has the ability to utilize my iPhone. Any info would be appreciated.

I use the Alpine CDA-9886. It comes with an i-pod cable that hooks up to the back of it and it works with the iphone as well. i got mine from crutchfield.com

I have a pioneer in my Camry that came with iPod (and iPhone)integration plus HD radio! I paid $150 shipped.

Crutchfield is awesome...free installation kit? Yes, please!

yeah, but that one wont let you control the Ipod portion of your iphone from your iphone, you are then stuck going thru the deck..

i have a Dension Ice link that works with the Ipod and the Iphone and I can control both from my ipod/iphone... who wants to try and go thru playlists from the stupid decks??

It's actually really REALLY easy on both of my Pioneers

i dont got a iphone but ill vouch for pioneer mine just died but hey it was 9yrs old thats pretty good in my book i liked the ease of use and the nicer ones with sep controls for the sub is a plus

Ive found that eclipse makes some high quality car stereos that are basically plug in play for our toyotas. I haven't tried an ipod connection for it, but a parrot bluetooth kit (also made by eclipse) that works flawlessly with my iphone.

Pioneer works well. You can switch between iphone control and deck control with a button on the deck.

Pioneer is the only manufacture that I know of that will do Video from an iPhone, I would imagine Alpine has something, but I would go with Pioneer personally.

Update:

I ended up buying an Alpine CDA-105 with iPhone cable from Crutchfield. Out the door for $199 and with a bit of tweaking it fits perfectly in my '99 SR5. Notable drawbacks may be that you cannot control the iPhone/iPod once it is connected, you have to use the head unit. But the head unit is VERY user friendly for searching through playlists, artists, songs, etc.
