New Surco Safari Rack Installed

Just installed the rack yesterday, took about 40 mins to put it all together. now im all set with my gear for my trip to hollister on march 4. the rack is the 45 x 50 size and it ran about $339 plus tax. let me know what you think

Looks very good... Where did you get it from? I was looking for some racks, but couldn't find cheaper then 450-500.

Looks very good... Where did you get it from? I was looking for some racks, but couldn't find cheaper then 450-500.

i bought it from a local off road shop where i get all my gear, you can also buy it from www.everythingsuv.com and the shipping is like 30 bucks. the surco rack is alot cheaper because u assemble it and also it is ups-able since it comes in a smaller package,

Thanks. Looks very nice and your shoots are great. UPS-able...it may sound funny, but it doesn't look good for me. I'm in Canada, and all UPS or FedEx stuff is charges with brokerage fee ($50-100) + taxes (15% on both cost and brokerage fee). But anyway, thank you for the info. I'll try to find this make at local stores.

Looks good. I think I'm gonna get the same one. Just wondering though, does it make a lot noise when you have the sunroof open? If so, can it be moved back some? Also, are you thinking of mounting any lights on it?

its makes some noise when the sunroof is open but its not too bothersome. yes it can be moved back or forward. i thought about putting some lights on but im not sure if they will work good because they will probably get alot aof glare for the hood, i need to experiment first
