New T4R owner in Seattle

Hello all,

Got back late last night from the dealer with a brand new 2011 Trail Edition T4R, Magnetic Grey Metallic with the nav system and suspension upgrades. Also adding heated front seats and Weather Tech mats everywhere.

Have been a fan of the T4R for a long time, and drove a tiny Volvo C30 before this, and prior to that an Audi TT. Quite a big shock going to this size, but I grew up with trucks until I was in my early 20's.

Pretty amazed at how nice the ride is, how comfortable I am while driving around, and the extras and addons. Can't wait to try it out up in the hills and see how crawl mode and the other features work out.

Welcome! Good to see another T4R owner from the NW. I picked up my TE about a month ago and felt the same way about ride quality.

How do you like the CravenSpeed stubby antenna? I just noticed today as I was coming into my parking garage at work how annoying the slapping of the antenna is...

I barely ever use the stereo in the car, and will likely use XM if I do, which I believe uses the antenna near the rear hatch on the top. I assume changing to this antenna won't really matter to me, but thought I'd check...

The CravenSpeed stubby is great. It is powdercoated aluminum, which I prefer to the rubberized antennas out there. My first trip into our garage had the stock antenna slapping just about everything, so I took the stock one off immediately. Got it 2 days after ordering online.

Don't listen to the radio much either, but your XM is received through your shark fin antenna anyway, so you should be fine. I don't notice much difference in reception with the stubby for AM/FM signals unless I am on my way out of town. I really think the look of the stubby's are awesome.

hey fellow seattle T4R owners, I, too, am in Seattle, Bellevue area. I'm new to the area (from SoCal and Hawaii) and am looking for retracting door steps and possibly a body/suspension lift with rims. Let me know which shops you all use...I could definitely use some good references. thanks, paul
