New tires? 500 to spend.

My mom gave me 500 for new tires for christmas. I want some A/Ts
What do you reccomend.

my choice is Bridgestone Dueler AT- I have used many brands of tires on our fleet of work trucks and found that bridgestone holds up better over time than the other brands. the only exception is the Nitto tires-they beat the bridgestone on tread life but they are more money per tire.

500 is a very low budget for tires. I would try to save 2-300 more. At that price point you can get into the higher end tires. I just picked up some 265/70/17 Yokohama geolanders for 700otd. A good price, I don't think you can find to much for less.

Nitto Terra Grappler in P sizing. A very high quality tire of which a set of 4 might be gotten for not too much more than $500.

You might need to get another $100-$200. There are a couple of tires you could go with. You have the Nitto Terra Grappler, Bridgestone Revo, Hankook Dynapro, Kumho Road Venture and you should also look at the Treadwright Warden. It is a retread tire but looks just like the BFG All Terrain K/O. A set of 4 of those would run you about $390.

i'll sell ya the tires off my 2000 4Runner, they are LT265/75R16 8PLY M+S Summit Mud Dawgs with 95% treat for $500.00 - only bad thing is i live down here in Graceville, FL. give me your e-mail address and i'll send you pic., they may be a little more aggressive tread than what you want, but you can check 'em out if ya want.

Both are all terrain and are reasonably priced. $500 total to spend is not enough for a full set unless you're going used and only then you'll have to do a local pickup/install. Figure about $20 per tire for mount/balance/install.

I would go with the Hankook's! There are a couple of guys here that run those and they look very nice and perform quite well.

You could always go with Retread Tires - Buy Retread Tires, Cheap Tires, Off Road Tires, and Retreads Online

That's my plan in the future.

I agree that P -passenger tires will save you some money over LT-light truck tires. Give you a bit "cushier" ride at the expense of off roading capability....
