New Tires , a bit different

Just had these installed on Sequoia rims last Saturday. Got the wheels on eBay from a California outfit called OEMRIMS. $460 not bad for the wheels.

The tire is the new Goodyear Fortera TripleTred for SUV. They weren't available in 265/65R17 so I went up to 265/70R17. Crazy tread pattern, very deep channels. Not any more noise than the stock Bridgestone Dueler H/T's I had removed. I already noticve a difference in the rain. They are harder to break loose when getting on the gas in a corner.

When dry, they don't squeal like the Duelers did around turns. Hoping they have great treadlife (60k warranty). Supposed to be a great all-season tire, wet, dry, and snow. But I also bought a set of Bridgestone Blizzak DM-Z3 for the stock set of wheels. These will go on after the snow starts.

They look like they'll be a great highway tire. The channels look excellent for moving water. 60k mi warranty is pretty awesome too.

ToolmanJohn, since the tire you have not is not the original size, does that mean your signature is not correct? :D Can you post side shots of your car so we can see the fortera's side view on your suv?

Pictures of wheels ???:bash:

New wheels

I should have know better than to not post a picture of the entire wheel. :bonk:

17" Sequoia wheels. They came with the center caps. A good thing too, because the caps from the stock Limited wheels do not fit the Sequoia wheels, and vice versa.

Better tread picture

Here's a better picture of the tread. Unfortunately all the pictures are inside a dark garage at night.

Also I notice the server takes about 5 minutes to post replies. Wicked slow tonight, Iwonder if it's just me? Other web navigation is running fine.

I love how the Sequoia wheels look! They're going to be a little more of a pain to clean though, compared to the limited wheels.

Edit: You had to sneak your lit up running board into the pic to make us lightless guys even more jealous, didn't you? :D

Those look nice! Keep us updated on the performance of these tires.

Could you maybe get a shot of the whole car with the new wheels? I want to see how the Pacific Blue looks with the wheels. I've been looking for a set of the graphite polished version.

How much did the 265/70-17 Goodyear Fortera's cost you for a set of 4.

They were $175 each plus mounting and balancing. The total was $784 from a local tire outlet. TireRack is at $165 each, plus shipping, not mounted. I got a real good price I think. Plus free rotations.
