New tires - front/rear lift heights are different?

Posted this in my other thread, but thought I would re-post with a new subject line-

So, I got a new set of Nitto Terra Grapplers put on, 265/70R17 to replace the stock tires. I took some height measurements after the tires were installed and found that the front was about 7/16" higher, but the rear was about 7/8" higher. How does this happen? How could the lift in the rear be higher than the front? Any ideas?

I checked my measurements a few times, so I believe they are good. I haven't checked the tire pressures, but the tires look fine visually. What else could it be? Seems very weird to me...

So you're measuring the height from the ground to the fenders? If that's the case, there are a hundred variables that could cause that small difference.

I don't know, if you want to estimate it lifted the front about 1/2", and the rear about 1". That seems like a pretty big difference (1/2") in lift heights to me between the front/rear.

There is more weight up front so your seeing the tire compress more. What air pressures are you running?

Checked my pressures last night and re-took some measurements. All 4 tires were around 36-37 psi and I adjusted them to 35. Now I'm measuring about 7/8" to 1" lift in both the front and rear from the new tires.

I took the previous measurements pretty soon after the new tires were installed, and it was very hot outside here (around 100F). Plus I wonder if they were still hot from the tire shop inflating the tires. They fill those babies pretty fast so that could have added to the heat and maybe they were overfilled. Or I just wasn't reading the tape correctly when I took the measurements, which I am fully capable of doing...

In any event, the front/rear lift heights are pretty close to each other so I am good now.
