New tires means new spacers

New member
I'm lifted 3" and came across a good deal on some lightly used Toyo MTs in 305/70/16 and thought I'd chance it.
Today took them down to the local firestone to have them mounted and the wheels with the new tires wouldn't even get back on my runner. :Cry:
They're putting my worn out BFGs back on there and I ordered a set of 1.25" spacers.
At least it'll look good. Merry Christmas to me.

I love my 305's. Yeah no way they would fit stock UCA's and or stock backspacing.

What made you go with 1.25" vs. 1.5"?

Not spidertrax, eBay. They look to be of good quality and searching around folks have had good luck with them.
As far as why 1.25, I figure it'll be enough. New tires are only 2" wider, so adding 1.25" to the inside should be enough. Probably should have gone 1.5 just to be safe, but I think I'll be alright.
 
I'll add the tech said they were close. The studs would come they, but the wheel wouldn't seat. He said he needed less than an inch.

305's and 1.5" would most likely hit the fender pretty bad when wheeling, my 1.25" and stock back spacing sometimes will hit the fender and pop the flare off. Thats even with my 1.5" BL.

A body lift is next on the list. I was thinking 1" or 1.5"

So, I ordered my 1.25" spacers.............I have 285/75/16 tires, Total Chaos UCAs and currently stock wheels. I plan on having Tundra 231mm brakes and SCS wheels in the future. I should be okay yea?

Yes, you should be fine with just the spacers. 285's are not as wide as 305's and the spacers will clear the brakes and stock UCA.
 
I almost forgot to update this thread.
Spacers in and installed and new tires installed. Toyo MT 305/70/16.
I think it looks goooooood!

i'll pot up some pics soon, but I'm super happy with the look and ride. They roll smooth (I don't know how else to describe it), and while the extra weight is noticeable, it kind of balances out the Tundra break upgrade. One of the first things I did to the runner was the Tundra break upgrade, and they were also too grabby.
Went hunting this past weekend, and tried a fairly steep and loose/rocky hill climb. She did flawless.
