A lot of varying opinions here. Ill voice mine...if you run any trails with rocks and debris DO not get any hankook tires. Very weak sidewalls even with a d or e rated tire. If you run nothing but mud and mall parking lots hankooks will do you just fine. I only speak from 8 years experience in the tire industry. If your budget is healthy go with goodyear duratrac or a bfg. If your budget is less than healthy look into some coopers, great tire for the $. The shop i worked at sold a lot of hankook mts to people who wanted the "i go offroading look" but didmt actually go. We were more than happy to accept payment, even though we knew they were junk when it came to actual performance.
Ps dont let a shop talk you into a tire. Do your research and decide for yourself, dont settle for anything less. When a shop gets a good deal on a certain brand they push to sell them faster( also bonus money involved with pushing x-amount of units of a certain brand)

Well, I put over 30k on my truck this year, and I off-road a ton, so if they don't hold up I'll know. My P- rated Hankook ATM's sure did take some abuse though. Time will tell, and I'll keep reporting about them. My tire shops kept trying to sell me duratracs, but that's not what I want. If I hadn't bought these I'd go with nitto tires.
I went ahead and ordered the Hankooks. Around $650 for all 4 from Amazon.
I appreciate the opinions. My truck doesn't see any serious off road use (some general sloppy field stuff around my farm is about it.) I primarily use it to haul my dog, occasionally pull a small trailer, and get to work when it's too crappy out to drive my other vehicles. If I can get 25-35k miles out of the Hankooks, I'll be more than happy at that price.
