New tires, now TPMS light?

This past weekend I tossed the Daystar 2.5/1.5 kit on the 4Runner, and replaced the tires with some Nitto TGs in 265/70/17. It loks awesome, but the TPMS light has been on since Saturday when the tires were replaced.

I asked the shop about it, and they were like "yeah, just run it for a while and they'll eventually pick back up on it, or you can get a tool to reset it."

It sounded reasonable and I left it alone, however it's now nearly Tuesday and the light is still on solid. All 5 tires have good pressure -- any ideas on if they could have boned something up replacing the tires (kept the stock rims in place), or do I just need to let it cook some more?

I would take it back. I had absolutely no issues when I got my BFG's or my previous set of tires.

Take the truck back - they most likely effed up one of your TPM sensors.

Check your spare, make sure all tires are above 28 lbs. If they are take it back and make them fix it. More than likely replace the bad sensor.

The Toyota sensors do reset themselves, so there's no reason for you to buy the tool yourself. Even if they did need a tool to reset, the shop needs to do it for you, free of charge. Unless you're running aftermarket wheels, or the guys at the shop don't know what they're doing, the chances that they broke a sensor are minimal.

As previously stated, I would check the spare first, as it's a likely candidate for the cause.
