new to 4runners. seat Q?

Looking at a new car purchase and would like to know if the 4runners have full leather seating or just leather seating surfaces with vinyl everywhere else. Test drove the new GX and it is beautiful inside with full leather seating. Also drove the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, looked great, but they have gone to the "leather surfaces" on an otherwise vinyl seat. Would like to know about the Yotas for my research.

I believe its full... we have two limiteds and well.. from what I can tell is that the seat part is all leather, the headrest is leather, the sides are leather, and maybe the back of the seats are too... but i haven't looked at that much.

The GX of course is going to be nicer... but it'll cost you quite a bit more. Its the differencses in the trim/desgin/materials that adds to the price.. but its still a Toyota.

i think it is full leather as well. i'll check next time i'm in my truck. i don't remember seeing any vinyl stuff. the gx is nice, but the look of the 4runner is better in my opinion. good luck!

full leather I believe

Reading through some of the information, the seat, seat back, head rest, and side panels are all leather. Backside (kick side) is high-grade vinyl for durability. It is moderately difficult to tell these days with the high-quality vinyls, they even have a grain... The only way to tell is to feel the difference in texture once they are both cleaned. GMC vehicles except Caddy's all have leather seating surfaces (seats & seat backs), but headrests and kick side are vinyl.

The seating surfaces (where your butt sits on the seat and where your back rests against the seat back) are all leather. The headrests are also completely covered in leather. The sides of the seats and the back of the seatback are vinyl. Toyotas are known for excellent quality vinyls. I had a really hard time telling the difference between the two when I looked at a Limited.

Leather Durability

I have a Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon with black leather interior. 145,000 miles and the seats have held up remarkably well. They don't look new anymore but they do look almost new. I have only used leather conditioner on the seats once, maybe twice. My mom had a 73 T-Bird with leather seats, nice soft leather but NOT durable. How does Toyota Limited leather hold up?

I've had my '04 since Oct '03. It is holding up well except on the driver's seat at the following location: seat part, driver's left, on the rear edge. here the leather is starting to break down a bit unfortunately.
