New to 4runners with a problem

I recently bought a 95 4runner sr5 V6 with blown head gaskets replaced the gaskets as well as did spark plugs, air filter, new oil and coolant, put it all back together at tdc, new cap and rotor. Had a rough idle and idling at 500 rpm, took it for a drive to see if it would clear up but it didn't. it is really slow and has no acceleration. Any ideas? got better after playing around with the vaccum lines

Its not missing or anything like that right? Maybe Ignition timing? Idle screw adjustment?

Its got quite a bit of hesitation. Foot to the floor and 1 km down the road I might be at 50 km an hour. Timing is good, my father is helping me trouble shoot it but he's mostly worked on domestic vehicles. Accelerates slower then a 4 cyl running on two with a plugged cat

clogged cats?

Were you able to drive it before you did the head gasket job? If so, did it get up to speed then? Slow accelerating could be clogged cats, but you'd probably smell it.

Silly question cause i've read up alot on what to do when you have a blown head gasket ( i bought one too ) did you have the heads or block checked for warpage or any need for machine work?

Heads were overhauled basically

Pressure test the fuel system. I got issues with bogging right now when cold and that is my next step.

It could be weak injectors too for you. If that tests good check for vacuum leaks and then compression check.

It runs good until knock sensor gets thrown. Is it possible to run it with out the knock sensor until I can get time to replace it?
